He was walking in heaven one day, when he got lost, and accidentally fell to earth.

On earth, he was lonely, because nobody recognised him for what he was. When he was growing up, all the other childrem teased him, because they mistook his beauty for weakness.

After a lifetimeof this, the angel was tired, and he began to think that the others were right. He didn't know that humans understood nothing of angelic nature, with their coarse hearts and hardened souls.

One day, he met a girl, who recognised him for what he was. Her heart was more delicate than a human's, and as time went on, she realised that she lvoed the angel even more than she loved life itself.

And the angel loved her back.

And it would have been perfect.

But the death the angel used to long for was to be the single thing that would hurt him most.

Angel souls are different from human souls. I told you once already. So they have a different afterlife. An angel, who is never meant to become human, who is never meant to live, or breathe, or die, is confined to heaven.

A human, with the dense soul and heavy heart that characterises the race, is confined to an overlapping heaven, like oil on water, always close, but never touching. The angel knew this.

He also knew that it would break her heart.

So, she didn't know. And as they got older, day by day, he realised that he couldn't leave her.

The lifespan of an angel on earth lasts for two decades. On the evening of his very last day on earth, he took his wings, and wrapped them around her.

And then he died.
