Getting an email from her, even one as cursory as that, was odd.

I have completely washed my hands of all of them - or as much as I can.

Just because I cut them away from my life, doesn't mean that I'm gone from theirs. I don't wish I could take it back, because they were good times, but I wish for the life of me that it was a clean cut.
